Flag display cases

Selecting a Flag Case
Capitol Flag & Display Case Military and memorial flag cases preserve and display a flag of honor. When selecting a flag display case, quality, appearance, and price should be considered. The most basic of flag cases might seem attractive because of low pricing. Looking beyond the blue-light special, one might notice that the display case that looks like wood is pressed paper with a wood laminate, the glass is actually Plexiglas, and at best, it is held together with staples. From across the room, it seems nice.

Middle-of-the-line flag display cases are mass-produced, priced to sell, and like their cheap cousins, are often imports. They, too, have Plexiglas fronts that scratch easily, and what looks like wood is actually compressed particles of wood with a wood laminate that breaks down over a period of time; staples and cheap glue bind it all together. This case remains in disguise from a distance.

The best of flag display cases has a solid wood construction and a real glass front, and is assembled with wood screws, to secure the memorial flag with the beauty and dignity that it deserves in an American-made flag case.

What's in the Display Case?
Flag etiquette requires that a funeral flag be properly stored as a memorial, not to be used for any other purpose. Memorial flag cases are designed specifically for flags that honor veterans. Flag and medal display cases display the folded flag with space to display military medals and perhaps a memorial photo.

There is no required placement for medals, but it is recommended that the display is as structured as the service, beginning with the insignia on top and followed by the medals, beginning with the highest honors. Ribbons and badges should be displayed next, followed by the division patch. These can be placed in the flag display case in rows, or by medal, ribbon, and badge groupings.
